ATLANTA, GA – MapHabit, an Atlanta based digital health company and NIH-SBIR awardee, announced the completion of its 2nd acquisition, LiveWell Dementia Training (LWDT), bringing the innovative educational content for support partners of people living with dementia to MapHabit’s award-willing technology platform.
“Caregiver burnout is a serious issue affecting over 50M people in the U.S. Many of us are confronted with a dementia diagnosis but lack the practical education to effectively respond to the changing needs of an individual. LWDT is an evidence-based, educational program that combines both individualized educational content and behavioral health coaching to beautifully complement MapHabit’s habit-building and cognitive engagement platform,” said Matt Golden, co-Founder and CEO of MapHabit.
“This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for LiveWell Dementia Training; one where we will be able to provide support partners an easier way to access vital and useful individualized content that tap procedural learning that is spared during both the earlier and later stages of dementia,” said Linn Possell, Founder and Lead Educator of LiveWell Dementia Training. “As part of MapHabit, we now can dramatically expand our reach and empower care teams to be thoughtful observers and critical thinkers across the country. Ultimately, this will lead to improved healthcare utilization and renewed independence for families across the care continuum. Finally there’s hope with a dementia diagnosis!”
Caregiving, whether professional or family, is commonly acknowledged as one of the most stressful, under-recognized, under-paid, and under-supported health-related jobs. This acquisition enhances The MapHabit System to educate caregivers to be more knowledgeable about memory and dementia, more sensitive to the needs of those in their care, as well as their own needs, through thoughtful decision processes, and to be more innovative in their care strategies using individualized wellness plans.
LiveWell Dementia Training will operate under the MapHabit brand, driving forward a continued focus on its mission, customers, and community. LiveWell Dementia Training programs will continue to be led by Linn Possell, who will now serve as Director of Caregiving Education and Training for MapHabit.
MapHabit is an interactive care management platform with exclusive content for cognitive engagement and education that promotes independence and enhances the quality of life for individuals needing additional cognitive support and their care partners.
