Q: What inspired you to join the MapHabit team?

A: As the managing partner of a workers comp litigation firm which also handles personal and catastrophic injury cases, I’m constantly navigating the aftermath of unthinkable events. At Benzo Law we pride ourselves on relentlessly advocating to make these clients and their families as whole as possible after the unthinkable occurs. MapHabit’s™ groundbreaking technology is working to make the lives of patients with memory deficiencies like dementia as whole as possible. I strongly believe these personalized visual maps are the missing piece.

Q: How do you foresee MapHabit helping people?

A: Data released by the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference 2015 predicts more than 28 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s disease by 2050, resulting in the cost of their care consuming nearly 25 percent of Medicare spending in 2040.

The increasing prevalence of the disease and subsequent rising costs of healthcare to treat it is projected to impact the American economy for decades to follow. MapHabit’s™ technology, as it continues to evolve, will dramatically ease the burdens of millions of Americans, their families and their caretakers while helping to decrease the financial and socioeconomic burdens of the disease.

Q: How does your experience impact MapHabit’s success?

A: I know firsthand the devastating effects and havoc traumatic injuries and deficits to the brain can wreak on families. This compels me to support MapHabit’s™ vision and to lend my skills as an advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves. With more than 15 years experience in personal injuries, I am well versed in the laws, rights and pitfalls of injured persons in the state of Georgia. I’m honored to advocate for the more than 5,800,000 Americans affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Q: What inspired you to join the MapHabit team?

A: One of the focuses of my work is in examining the development of digital technologies and using its power to help people. We are at a time where more treatment options are becoming available through mobile devices for people living with chronic conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. These options are safer, more personalized, and less expensive than ever before. I joined the MapHabit™ team to help bring this same level of intimate, high quality care to the millions of people living with cognitive impairment.

Q: How do you foresee MapHabit helping people?

A: I see the MapHabit™ System as a way to smooth out the ripples and wrinkles of everyday life, so that we can enjoy it whether we are 22 or 85. It is a virtual assistant for people and care partners who need and deserve more personalized attention. It is a powerful communication tool to allow families to stay connected. From experience, having a tool like this can promote independence and healthy living in a way nothing else has been able to achieve.

Q: How does your experience impact MapHabit’s success?

A: My perspective as a physician brings a level of candor and honesty not just to the team, but also as part of the unique philosophy of how we design our technology. Out team comes from strong scientific backgrounds with enormous creative and analytical energy, and we have been able to successfully translate that into real products that help real people by prioritizing them first.
